Chinese Movie Club

I am a big fan of Asian movies. I have more than 100 DVDs, mostly Chinese, with more coming all the time. I would love to form a group of people who meet regularly (once or twice a month) to view a movie and then discuss it. I would be especially interested in the opinions of Chinese people who would be willing to explain culture, language or story line topics. Please reply here or contact me directly if you are interested.

Creative memories on Sept.29

Topic: Creative memories

When: Saturday, Sept 29th, from 2:00-4:00pm
Where: Room 617, Eberhard Center, GVSU downtown campus, 301 W. Fulton street (Chinese Language School)
Speaker: Lydya Hulst

From Lydya:
Too often the photos taken on digital cameras are never printed. We usually worry about losing our photos and albums in a fire but a computer crash is far more likely to wipe out people's memories.

Creative Memories believes in and teaches the importance of preserving
the past, enriching the present, and inspiring hope for the future.
We promote the tradition of the historian/storyteller and the importance
of memory preservation and journaling for future generations.

As a Creative Memories Consultant, I help people preserve their photos
and special family history by teaching them about photo preservation and
celebration. In my presentation, I will talk and teach about
traditional scrapbooking, digital technology and digital story book
making, and custom framing. I present the different aspects that people
can document and remember their special memories and moments, from
traditional, to digital, to decorative framing. I also help people
start a home based business if that is something that they are looking
to do.
